Emma Watson: Coco Mademoiselle Fragrance Promo, Took Scarlett Johanssons Role

June 19, 2008 |12:19 | Gossips | Interviews  By : Team X

Emma Watson, who was English actress, has reportedly signed a $6 million, two-year contract to replace Keira Knightly as brand ambassador for Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance.

The “Harry Potter” star, which played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, turned 18 on Tuesday, April 15, entitling her to exercise control over the $20 million that she has amassed so far.
Kate Moss was chosen as the face for the perfume brand, which targets the young, in 2001, but was dropped a year later in favor of Keira Knightley. A formal announcement from Chanel on Emma Watson’s appointment is expected next month.
A source revealed, “Emma [Watson] has been excitedly telling friends that she is going to be taking over from Keira. Emma has been slowly integrated into the Chanel brand.”
Meanwhile, Emma Watson is stepping into Scarlett Johansson’s shoes in her first movie role outside the Harry Potter films.
The 18-year-old actress will star in the period drama Napoleon and Betsy, which Johansson reportedly dropped when it was decided the role was too young for her. She is going to produce the film while Watson will play Betsy Balcombe, a young noblewoman who falls for Napoleon during his exile to St Helena. Filming begins this autumn.

Potter star Emma Watson conjures big payday

June 16, 2008 |15:20 | Gossips | Interviews  By : Team X

Instead of sitting around counting the money she's made from the “Harry Potter” movies, Emma Watson, aka Hermione Granger, is said to have inked a big-bucks deal with Chanel. British press is reporting that under the terms of a two-year contract, Watson will become the new face of Chanel fragrance Coco Mademoiselle, and will earn about $6 million.

“This is such a perfect fit for Emma,” said a source close to Watson. “She’s not going to end up like these other Hollywood train wrecks, she just isn’t. This is going to be money in the bank so she can just live a life doing whatever she wants down the road, and it’s something she can be proud of. No one is going to be saying, ‘I never wanted to see Hermione in that light.’”

Could the source be alluding to Watson’s “Potter” counterpart Daniel Radcliffe, who will shortly be reprising his “Equus” role on Broadway? (Radcliffe has a  nude scene in the play, in case you missed the frenzy around the play’s opening in London.)

“No one is judging Radcliffe,” the source pointed out. “Let’s just say Emma has always made good decisions, and always will.”

George Clooney a hot dad?
Do the patrons of Petit Tresor know something the rest of us don’t? As a walk-up to Father’s Day, the Los Angeles-based celebrity baby boutique polled their customers about who they thought was the hottest dad or dad-to-be in Hollywood.
Topless pop-to-be Matthew McConaughey came in first, and Ashton Kutcher came in second. Third place? George Clooney. To the 836 people who submitted a name for the poll, last we checked, Clooney didn’t have kids and none were on the way.

Emma Watsons First Sex Scene Will be in Next Harry Potter Movie

June 9, 2008 |15:46 | Gossips | Interviews | Movies   By : Team X

HOGWARTS CASTLE, ENGLAND In a move that will certainly infuriate many Harry Potter purists, producers for the new Harry Potter movie are, for the first time, dramatically departing from the script put forth by J.K. Rowling in her books, by adding in a steamy, Lolita-style sex scene starring Hermione, played by Emma Watson.

“We just thought, these books are all sort of the same,” said one of the film’s producers, Jon Dempsey. “So we are going to spice this one up a bit, and see if we can fire up a little interest. We looked at all the characters, and we decided that the one that is the hottest is Emma, so we decided that Hermione should maybe get a little action in the next movie. And that’s what we’re going to do.”

The producers apparently debated long and hard as to whether Hermione should hook up with Ron Weasley, as expected, or even Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe. However, after much debate, they decided that the most compelling course of events would be to have her and Dumbledore engage in a little romantic tussle.

“Yeah, some people are going to object to a centuries-old wizard engaging in a sexual encounter with a junior high school student. But those muggles are freaking lame. I mean, it’s the year 2008 if you can’t handle a little bit of cloak-knocking and wand-rocking, then you need to lighten up.”
Many associated with the film thought that filming the scene would present some challenges, but it turns out that it was able to be canned with just one take.

“The scene is hot,” said one producer, who asked to remain nameless. “Let’s just say this. Emma Watson is one fine young lady. And so when ol’ Dumbledore was in her presence, he was obviously very aroused. And so it made for some great cinema. Wingardium leviosa. You know what I mean?”

Maureen Watt attacks fame show values

May 12, 2008 |12:04 | Gossips | Interviews  By : Team X

The Scottish education secretary, has criticised television talent shows such as the X Factor for peddling unrealistic “red carpet dreams” to teenagers.

Watt also said the constant media exposure of teenage celebrities such as Emma Watson, Pixie Geldof and Miley Cyrus, is fuelling unrealistic expectations of instant stardom among impressionable girls.

She said schools had a responsibility to instill in young people more grounded values such as the importance of education and responsibility to counter the bombardment of media images glamorising drug-taking, binge drinking and the sexualisation of teenagers.

Writing in today's Sunday Times, Watt, who will next week unveil new health and wellbeing guidelines for youngsters, said: “Stories about Pixie Geldof (under 18 but not averse to attending glitzy events where the champagne flows) and the many “boyfriends” of teenager Emma Watson, star of the Harry Potter films, provide escapism from exams, parents and peer pressure. But they also send out a confusing message.

“Drugs, sex and alcohol are as much part of the celebrity lifestyle today as designer handbags and miniature dogs - but the celebrities have a much younger audience than before. As celebrities become younger, so does their fan base and so even pre-teens are being exposed to lifestyles which used to be the preserve of adults.”

Earlier this month, Vanity Fair, the celebrity magazine, published semi-naked photographs of Cyrus, the 15-year-old actress who plays the Disney character Hannah Montana, taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz.

“Cyrus claimed she had been ‘manipulated' and did not mean to alienate her young fans by appearing in such a grown-up pose. But it's too late now,” said Watt. “Girls have seen their idol go from wholesome girl to pin-up girl overnight.”

Emma Watson Cast In Napoleon And Betsy

April 28, 2008 |12:13 | Gossips | Interviews  By : Team X

Emma Watson is world-renowned for her portrayal of Hermione Granger in all of the Harry Potter movies, but just like her co-stars and their characters, she’s not planning on being Hermione for life.

THR informs us that Watson has signed on for the film Napoleon and Betsy, which takes place on St. Helena, where the notorious Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled. Watson plays Betsy Balcome, who was trapped on Helena at the same time that Napoleon was exiled and fell in love with him.

This isn’t Watson’s first non-Potter film, as she has The Tale of Despereaux in post-production. That, however, is an animated film, so this will be her first real dance with non-Potter movies.
